About Our CEO

At the helm of Seven Seas Shipping Lines is Md. Ali Akbar, a seasoned shipping and logistics professional with over three decades of hands-on experience in Bangladesh’s maritime sector. His career encompasses the management of diverse vessel types and cargoes at Chattogram, Mongla, Payra, and Matarbari Ports, supported by strong working relationships with ministries, secretariats, customs authorities, port administrations, and all relevant government and private stakeholders across the cargo handling and transportation chain.

Under Mr. Akbar’s leadership, the company has successfully executed large-scale government projects, including major food grain import operations. His strategic foresight, deep operational knowledge, and unwavering commitment to integrity ensure efficient execution, full accountability, and transparent business practices - while consistently protecting principals’ interests.

Beyond corporate leadership, Mr. Akbar remains actively engaged in business, social, and educational organizations. He serves as a Senior Vice Chairman of the Bangladesh Shipping Agents’ Association and represents Seven Seas Shipping Lines in prestigious institutions, including Chittagong Club Ltd., Chittagong Boat Club, and Chittagong Seniors’ Club Ltd., reflecting his commitment to professional excellence and community engagement.
